The organising committee are very happy to invite all MobileHCI 2024 attendees to our conference banquet on October 2nd from 6pm - 9pm at the Port Melbourne Yacht Club.
This event will consist of drinks and canapes, followed by a sit-down dinner with an entrée and main course.
Come along, breathe in the fresh ocean air, and enjoy gorgeous sea views in a relaxing and inviting atmosphere!
About the Venue
Also known as "The Treasured One", the Port Melbourne Yacht Club is a coastal venue offering beautiful and quintessentially Australian sea views.

Getting Here
The venue is located at 38 Beach Street, Port Melbourne.
- Rideshare:
- Approx. 20 mins from Melbourne Connect
- ~AUD $30-40 per ride
- There are ample rideshare services available in Melbourne (e.g. Uber, DiDi, Shebah). Attendees may wish to travel together to reduce costs.
- Tram + Walk:
- Approx. 30 mins tram, 15 mins walk (45 mins total) from Melbourne Connect
- AUD $5.30 per person
- Trams are a classic and well-loved mode of transportation in Melbourne. To get to the banquet, you can catch the no. 1 tram [heading to South Melbourne Beach] at the Swanston St. Melbourne Uni terminus station, just outside Melbourne Connect. You will get off at Beaconsfield Parade/Victoria Avenue, then walk Southeast down Beaconsfield Parade along the beach to get to the banquet venue.
- Note that you need a Myki card to travel by tram, which you use to "tap on" as soon as you get onto the tram. You can purchase Myki cards at 7-Eleven, select convenience stores, and at Myki machines at certain stations. There are many places to buy a Myki card very close to the conference venue, including the Swanston St. Melbourne Uni terminus station, at Sparks Melbourne (750 Swanston St.), or 7-Eleven Carlton West (Shop 1, 743-751 Swanston St.).
