Tell us about your exciting real-world experiences

The Industrial Perspectives track is targeted towards practitioners and professionals working in the field of mobile HCI. We seek proposals that show the application, commercial aspects or practical challenges in any of the areas listed in the call for papers.

Preparing the Submission

We suggest Industrial Proposals to be 4-6 pages with a maximum length of 10 pages in the SIGCHI extended abstract format. The form of the presentation at the conference will depend on the proposal: for example, you might be proposing a design hack, you might want a standard presentation slot to present a case study, or you may want to organize a panel-like session discussing industry trends or practices.

We welcome submissions that are designed with an interdisciplinary mobile HCI audience in mind. Proposals should NOT be anonymized and must contain an abstract with less than 150 words that clearly states the proposal’s contribution.

Additional submissions types may be considered – please contact us early to discuss such options (e.g. if obtaining business clearance for a paper submission is not possible but you think there may still be an opportunity for an interesting presentation or panel). Please note that hands-on product demos are more suitable for submission to the Demo Track.

Submissions will be managed in the Precision Conference Systems (PCS) website.

More Information

All submissions will be reviewed by peers from industry and academia. The focus in review will be on general interest for the audience and how well the presentation enlightens industry realities, rather than strict academic criteria. All submissions will remain confidential during the review process.

Accepted proposals will be included in the ACM Digital Library as part of the MobileHCI 2019 Adjunct Proceedings. The authors will have the opportunity to present their work during the conference during dedicated industry perspectives sessions. At least one author of each proposal must register by the early registration deadline.
