Message from the Doctoral Consortium Chairs
The MobileHCI Doctoral Consortium provides the opportunity for doctoral students to explore, develop, and share their research ideas in a multi-disciplinary workshop, under the guidance of leading researchers in the field. The unique format of this workshop allows students to receive constructive feedback on their thesis work, get advice about future developments, and share ideas and experiences with peers in related areas. We invite students within different areas of mobile HCI who feel they would benefit from this kind of feedback on their dissertation work to apply for the MobileHCI 2019 DC. The strongest candidates will be those who have a clear topic and research approach, have advanced beyond the early stages in their thesis research but are yet in the finalizing phase of their work. In addition to stating how you will benefit from participation, both you and your advisor should be clear on what you can contribute to the Doctoral Consortium.

Preparing the Submission
To apply, submit a concise proposal of at most four pages (including references) in the SIGCHI Extended Abstracts format, including the following:
- Your Name
- Title of your thesis
- Research goals, questions and approach

Please note that the submissions should not be anonymized. Accepted DC proposals will be included in the ACM Digital Library as part of the MobileHCI 2019 Adjunct Proceedings. Please submit your proposal via Precision Conference System (PCS).
You will need to include a letter from your supervisor that supports your attendance at the Consortium.
The proposals will be evaluated by a review committee consisting of the DC chairs and additional senior mobile HCI experts. Approximately 8 participants will be selected to participate in the Doctoral Consortium in MobileHCI 2019.
Upon Acceptance of your Doctoral Consortium Proposal
Upon acceptance, you have to attend the Doctoral Consortium at the conference and you will get free registration to the conference.
