Call for Student Volunteers

The effectiveness and smooth operation of a conference, including MobileHCI 2025, greatly relies on student volunteers (SVs). For that, we are looking for student volunteers to contribute to the success of MobileHCI 2025.

You will help with various conference tasks, such as supporting presenters and guiding attendees.In exchange for your important contribution (roughly 20 hours), you will enjoy complimentary conference registration, a free t-shirt, and other perks. You will also make valuable connections with other students, expand your research network, and interact with conference participants and organizers.

Requirements

  • You must be an undergraduate, Master's, or Ph.D. student registered for at least one semester during the academic year before MobileHCI.
  • You must be available on-site during the entire conference.
  • You must be willing to commit to your assigned SV tasks.

To apply to become an SV, you can visit the CHISV website here and follow the steps to enroll in the lottery.

What will I do as a student volunteer

  • Complete around 20 hours of volunteer work prior to and during the conference
  • Attend an online orientation session in September before the conference starts.
  • Ideally arrive at the conference by Sunday evening (September 21st) - latest possible arrival at the conference by Monday morning (September 22nd)
  • Help with on-site equipment testing.
  • Support presenters with their talks, demos, or posters.
  • Support organizers in making sure the conference runs smoothly.
  • Be in contact with the chairs and be a link between organizers and participants.

T-Shirt Design Competition

Every year, student volunteers receive a t-shirt featuring a design created by one of their peers. If you possess inventive logo ideas, don't hesitate to try your hand at it! The winner will be granted the chance to attend the conference as a student volunteer. Additionally, your name will be recognized on the MobileHCI 2025 website.

To participate, please send your designs to the SV chairs (sv2025@mobilehci.acm.org) before July 30, 2025. Here are the requirements to participate:

  • You need to be a student.
  • The logo should be in the spirit of the conference.
  • The logo should be your own creation.
